“The World of Books—is the most remarkable creation of man-nothing else that he builds ever lasts—monuments fall-nations perish—civilizations grow old and die out-after an era of darkness new races build others—but in the world of books are volumes that live on—still as young and fresh as the day they were written—still telling men’s hearts of the hearts of men centuries dead”-author unknown. First, the company. Aisling Books is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oculus Media Group, LLC. Why does this matter to you. Very simply it allows us to do some things that smaller online book companies can’t. For instance we can offer payment options that many other stores cannot. PayPal is available, including the option to take all major credit cards and personal checks through the PayPal Services. You do not even need a PayPal account! We will soon be able to accept major credit cards directly through the website. Aisling Books will also be able to provide you with links to a host of wonderful media sources. Oculus Media will be offering recording services, graphics and design layout services, and editing services. All of this in addition to a bookstore that offers over 3,000 titles, along with many items in other media forms (CD’s, DVD’s and VHS tapes).
Next, the sellers. While Aisling Books is a corporation it is a small, family run company. For you the customer, that means that every order gets our personal attention. We don’t have a host of staff that are just warm bodies used for packing and shipping. Aisling Books is run by a husband and wife team, Brett & Nickole. In addition to both of us being avid readers, we have spent years in the book business. From working for publishing companies to owning our own brick & mortar bookstore to selling online at most of the major sites, we love the book business. We are five star sellers at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Alibris & Half.com. We achieve this because we believe that there is nothing better than providing someone with that special book that they need. Additional books are added to our inventory every week, and quite often every day. You will notice that each one of our listings comes with a detailed complete description. As you go through the site you may notice that there are items with no photos attached. We are adding pictures every day, but if we have missed an item that you need to see, please e-mail us so that we can provide that for you. We love new books, but feel that used books deserve a home too! Yes, even those used books that may be “hurt”. We have several listings that are described as “acceptable” or "fair" and may seem to have extensive damage. Please rest assured while these may not be attractive books, none of them are dirty, moldy or have pages falling out or bindings coming off the page block. The owners of this site love to collect books, and we would never list anything that we would not keep in our own home. That being said, the vast majority of our books are in at least “good” condition (please see the condition guidelines below). All of our books are carefully stored in a non-smoking environment. We also love to hear from our customers. If you are happy with the service let us know. We also want to know how we can improve our service and our website, so if you have a concern, send us an e-mail. After all, if you aren’t happy then we don’t have a business.
